C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership against Terrorism) is a joint government-business initiative to build cooperative relationships that strengthen overall supply chain and border security. C-TPAT (Customs–Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) is a voluntary, joint government-business partnership to help add to supply chain and increase border security. From its inception in November 2001, C-TPAT continued to grow. Today, more than 11,400 certified partners spanning the gamut of the trade community, have been accepted into the program. Companies who achieve C-TPAT certification must have a documented process for determining and alleviating risk throughout their international supply chain. This allows companies to be considered low risk, resulting in expedited processing of their cargo, including fewer Customs examinations.
SMC provides a complete C-TPAT Certification Package. C-TPAT offers businesses an opportunity to play an active role in the war against terrorism. By participating in this first worldwide supply chain initiative, companies will ensure a more secure supply chain for their employees, suppliers and customers. We collectively monitor the entire supply chain, not only for proper compliance, but also for new and improved best-practice security processes. This assists our customers in proactively preparing for adjustments to any governmental changes. For exports to the United States, security concerns are becoming increasingly important. C-TPAT validation from SMC will make you ready for CBP audits.
